St. Petersburg Wedding Venues

The waterfront community that is the growing downtown of St. Petersburg, Florida has old roots. Originally established in 1888 history remains quite apparent –  houses in Old Northeast are rich with character, the original 1915 library still allows readers to look out over Mirror lake and the gorgeous Vinoy hotel that helped to revive tourism in the 1920s is still a coveted location for special events or a weekend getaway. It is also the home of a vibrant art scene boasting a tour of murals down Central Avenue, old restaurants rejuvenated with fresh culinary artists and worldwide cuisine, and students studying fine arts in a city living and breathing it daily. What better landscape for photos?

Museum of Fine Arts Wedding Venue

The St Petersburg Museum of Fine Arts stands on Beach Drive, a gorgeous wedding venue itself, but is also within easy walking distance of other local venues and provides a gorgeous backdrop for wedding party photos with its stone steps, curving walls, and wrought-iron lanterns. The pillars create easy divisions of large wedding parties and create a sense of grandeur that every girl dreams of on her wedding day! Why not feel like a princess in her castle?

Walk further down the sidewalk to two of the most famous trees in all of the Tampa Bay area – the Straub Park Banyan Trees – where countless photos have been taken, children have played hide and seek, and many a festival has decorated. The fascinating aerial roots and the consistent shade provided make these trees a gorgeous and slightly cooler location for gorgeous portraits.

Popular Wedding Venues in St Petersburg Florida

The options in St Petersburg are endless for beautiful bridal portraits. The mirrored windows of the Dali Museum reflect stately palms and happy couples in its triangular glass. The Kapok Tree blooms on the south lawn of the Museum of Fine Arts with its bright red flowers and thick branches perfect for climbing. The white pergola at the north end of Straub Park provides gorgeous contrast with his Fuschia flowers more than half the year. Walk towards the water to enjoy views of the Bay, the pink walls of the Vinoy, or the recently rebuilt Pier.

Get Married at The Birchwood Hotel St. Pete

The Birchwood of St. Petersburg is one of my favorite venues. A boutique inn with 18 rooms decorated with a 1920s vibe provides guests with a luxurious and easy place to stay. The rooftop bar, The Canopy, provides the perfect place for late-night drinks or pre-ceremony toasts. The Grand Ballroom features a wall of windows leading to a balcony that wedding parties and their guests will love as they look out over Tampa Bay. Complete with dance floor, bar, and catering services the Grand Ballroom makes your celebration one remember.

There are so many options here in St. Petersburg to choose for your wedding venue or even the perfect spot for engagement photos. Many of the photos in my gallery are taken in these very same places. I would love to discuss my experiences taking photographs in St. Petersburg and help you decide which location would be best for your session.
